Muamba as playbreaker, sitting in front of the back three, with freedom to break forward

Isn't that a contradiction in terms? Sitting in-front of a back three and being allowed to break forward?

No different to sending a centre half forwards for our corners to try to score!

Lets become hard to beat again.

I know it boring but its results and points we need.

I thought we had become hard to beet if recent results are anything to go by. The problem is we are drawing too many games.

Going back to Bruce's more defensive approach, especially given our lack of quality in the centre of defence, seems a recipe to turn the draws into loses.

But when you send a centre back upfield at a corner someone with less height/aerial ability drops deep in order to provide the cover for them. If Muamba is breaking upfield AND is providing the midfield cover, then who exactly is doing the covering while Muamba is up the field? Kapo?

Jaidi and Taylor and the two tallest, should we play with both of them in order to defend set pieces?
What a bit like this:

-------------Taylor-----------

-kelly--jaidi--talyor--murphy-

--muamba--nafti--

--larsson--------------kapo---

--mcfadden---------forssell---

when mcfaddys out put in Zarate

We have a mistake-ridden defence. To wins games we need to aim to score three goals. Therefore we should play a much more attacking lineup to keep the other team busy. Therefore:

1
Three central defenders (Kelly, Taylor, (Ridgewell or Jaidi))

2
Muamba as playbreaker, sitting in front of the back three, with freedom to break forward

3
Have wing backs pushing on (Larsson and Murphy)

4
Kapo as playmaker

5
McFaddern, Forssell and Zarate as the strikers (McSheff and O'Connor as cover)

Sullivan should snap you up man.

What a genius type analysis.

:LMAO:

Totally agree with your team above.

All bar the two central defenders should be automatic choice and they are good enough to make us a mid-table Prem team.

As for the two centrebacks, pick anybody. Talk about achilles heel, this one is giving us so much trouble. I'd even consider pairing O,Connor and De Ridder at centreback, nothing can be worse than of late.

Your probably right.
